Pusat Kanser Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Universiti Sains Malaysia was established with novel and unconventional approaches that lead to the development of cutting-edge advanced research, innovative postgraduate programmes in the areas of medicine, dentistry and health sciences and tertiary healthcare services. Clusters have been set up by Pusat Kanser Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Universiti Sains Malaysia to spearhead the academic and research activities in the area of Biomedical Imaging, Biomedical Science, Community Health, Dental Science, Toxicology and Clinical Medicine.

FIRST TEACHING HOSPITAL DEDICATED TO CANCER OFFICIALLY INAUGURATED BY TUANKU SYED SIRAJUDDIN IBNI ALMARHUM TUANKU SYED PUTRA JAMALULLAIL

ARAU, 22 January 2026 – The Cancer Research And Specialist Centre (PPKPK), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), formerly known as the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI) since its establishment in 2002, marked a historic milestone with its official inauguration as the Pusat Kanser Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Universiti Sains Malaysia.

The inauguration was graciously consented to by the Chancellor of USM, His Royal Highness Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, and was formally conferred during a royal ceremony held at Istana Arau, Perlis.
