This 2-days course is organised by the Advanced Medical & Dental Institute (AMDI) USM in collaboration with USM Medical Centre Bertam. lt is designed to provide the necessary theoretical and practical background in medical physics. The first day of the course comprises of a series of lecture on the basic and physic theories of linac calibration and focusing on the QA aspect. The practical session on Day-2 includes step-by-step demonstration linac calibratios according to TRS-398 The course is aimed primarily for medical physicists, but shouId aIso benefit engineers, researchers, postgraduate students, manufacturer's representative, and anyone interested to update their knowledge and understanding on this topic.
Proper calibration of radiotherapy linear accelerators is fundamental to the accurate and safe delivery of radiotherapy treatment. This course provides an integrated practical and theoretical approach to radiotherapy linac calibration, grounded in the principles of absorbed dose to water standards using TRS-398 protocol. Emphasis is placed on the hands-on implementation supported by fundamental understanding, empowering participants to perform clinical calibration with confidence.
