FULL PAPER PUBLICATION GUIDELINES

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

The manuscript intended for submission should be use the attached template.

Please read the attached guidelines and prepare the manuscript as specified.

Remarks: The manuscript should not exceed pages 8 with a maximum word count of 2000 (including references), a maximum of 4 figures/tables, and no more than 20 references

All manuscripts must be checked for similarity using Turnitin before submission. A similarity index below 24% will pass, 24-40% requires resubmission, and over 40% will result in rejection. The Turnitin report must be included as a supplementary document during the manuscript submission.

All manuscripts must be written in British English. Authors must revise and edit the language before submission, as the Editorial Office does not offer copyediting services. Poor language quality may lead to rejection.

All manuscripts are reviewed through a double-blinded process online. Authors can suggest up to 4 reviewers, but they must not be from the same institution or have any conflicts of interest.

Checklist – Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure the following checklist (√) is complete

General Flow and Guidelines for Submission to the Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences (MJMHS)

1. Preparation of Manuscript

  • Language: All manuscripts must be written in British English.
  • Manuscript Format:
    • Use the provided template to format your manuscript.
    • The manuscript should not exceed 2000 words, including references, tables, figures, and legends.
    • Include an abstract of no more than 250 words.
    • A maximum of 4 tables/figures can be included.
    • The manuscript should not exceed 8 pages.
    • The reference list should not exceed 20 references.
  • Grammar and Language: Thoroughly revise the manuscript for grammar and language quality before submission. The Editorial Office does not offer copyediting services.

2. Plagiarism Check

  • Turnitin Report: Check the manuscript for similarity using Turnitin before submission.

3. Submission Process

Online Submission: You will soon receive an email with submission instructions, and you should submit your manuscript under the AUPC2024 Special Issue.

• Checklist: Before submitting, ensure that all items on the submission checklist are complete: Manuscript is a full paper.

o Word count does not exceed 2000 words.
o Abstract is within 250 words.
o A maximum of 4 tables/figures included.
o Total manuscript does not exceed 8 pages.
o Turnitin similarity index is less than 24%.
o Manuscript has been thoroughly reviewed for grammar and language.
o Reference list does not exceed 20 references.

4. Peer-Review Process

  • Double-Blinded Review: The manuscript will undergo a double-blinded peer-review process, meaning that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  • Reviewer Suggestions: Authors may suggest up to 4 potential reviewers who are qualified in the field, but they must not be affiliated with the same institution or have any conflicts of interest.
  • Decision: After the peer-review process, the manuscript may be accepted, accepted with minor or major revisions, or rejected.

5. Post-Acceptance

  • Revisions: If revisions are requested, the authors must address all comments from the reviewers and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.
  • Proofreading: After acceptance, the manuscript will undergo a final proofreading stage. Authors will be required to approve the final version before publication.

6. Publication

  • Online Publication: Once finalized, the article will be published online in the Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Remarks

  • Ensure that all submission guidelines are followed to avoid delays or rejection.
  • Keep track of all communications from the Editorial Office during the review and revision process.
  • Timely response to reviewer comments and revision requests is essential to maintain the manuscript's publication timeline.

Following these guidelines will help ensure a smooth submission process and increase the chances of your manuscript being accepted for publication in the MJMHS.


PAYMENT GUIDELINES

Authors are required to pay certain fees associated with the submission and publication of their manuscripts.

  1. Submission Fees:
  • For local authors: RM100
  • For international authors: USD50

This fee is non-refundable and must be paid at the time of manuscript submission.

  1. Publication Fees:
    Upon acceptance of the manuscript, the following publication fees apply:
  • For local authors: RM250
  • For international authors: USD150

Please note that the fees are necessary to cover the costs of the publication process. All payments must be completed before the manuscript is published.
