Students Advisory Board

The Students Advisory Board is an initiative of Dr. Bakiah Shaharudin, the Deputy Director of the Academic and Students Affairs, to mitigate problems that students may face, ranging from financial to familial to academic, or issues that they may have difficulty approaching their supervisors about. The board members can function as a mediator, or simply to point students in the right direction, so that the welfare and well-being of the students are well taken care of.

Hello there. You can call me Siti. I have been an international student/researcher/traveller in several different countries where my native language or English may or may not have been helpful. It's all about your openness to experience something new, something interesting, something challenging for the sake of knowledge, be it academic or not. I am here to assist current and prospective students at AMDI should you require some advising on academics, well-being and even cultural matters. Hope to catch up with you soon!

Hi there, I’m Kumitaa. A strange name of sorts, so my friends just call me Kumi. I lived abroad for almost ten years where I served as a Global Ambassador, Fulbright and Humphrey Fellows’ mentor, which focused on helping students integrate into an international community, and expand their cultural experience. Now that I’m here in AMDI, I am hoping to do the same. I’m also a self-proclaimed foodie, so if you just want to stop by to say hi, and savor a cup of coffee and some delectable cookies with me, you are more than welcome to do so. Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

I’ve worked for more than thirty years and have gone through all the difficulties and stresses. I’ve managed and survived so maybe I can share the secret with you. Do feel free to drop by my office to have a chat. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Hello there. You can call me Doblin. I am very laid-back and fun-loving person. I was once an international student and my experience from living abroad has made me a better person. I understand that a lot of adjustments need to be made to meet the expectations of your supervisors, colleagues and friends. A new multicultural environment with different languages and working system can seem overwhelming. Are you facing any difficulty here in AMDI? Guess what? There is always a way out. Life is wonderful and never let anyone put you down! I am here to assist and advice you in all matters related to academics, your well-being and even cultural matters. Cheers!

Hello, my name is Hafiz. I did my first degree and MSc in USM, followed by a PhD in London, UK. I am now a senior lecturer in medical physics/clinical physicist here, with research interest in radiotherapy technologies. Naturally, I am into science and technology (possibly a geek), but also have passion for food and culture. I am reachable via Alamat emel ini dilindungi dari Spambot. Anda perlu hidupkan JavaScript untuk melihatnya. (or physically at my office in CTC) if you would like to chat about your pursuit of life and science. My experience as a student here and abroad, as well as my physical science background, could be of help.
