RAMADAN DISYUKURI, CELEBRATING FRIENDSHIPS

BERTAM, 29 June 2016 – The Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI) Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) held an Iftar on campus for the impoverished and the orphans in the area.

Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof Dato’ Dr. Muhamad Jantan thanked the committee members of Ihya Ramadan AMDI for collecting donations and funds that made this event a success.

“Thank you to all those who contributed and may Allah bless everyone because these contributions have increased our awareness to the challenges and suffering faced by the community,” he said, reading the script from USM’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Dato’ Dr. Omar Osman.

Prof. Muhamad also hoped that the AMDI staff would continuously give back to the community by providing medical and health services to them.

Also present were Deputy Vice Chancellor (Industrial and Community Networking) Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof. Dato' Dr. Adnan Hussein, USM Registrar Prof. Dato' Dr. Abdul Aziz Tajuddin, Director of USM Islamic Centre Prof. Dato' Dr. Muhammad Idiris Saleh.

AMDI director Dr. Norehan Mokhtar thanked everyone who took the time to participate in this event.

“This is the 9th time AMDI has organized this event since 2008 during Ramadan to bring everyone closer,” she said.

She also added that other than this event, staff also distribute food daily and visit the needy.
