ZIARAH RAMADAN, AN AMDI PROGRAM

KEPALA BATAS, 20 June 2016 - The Ziarah Ramadan Program, Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI),  Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) was held earlier today, where four families of AMDI staff who recently went through hardships were gifted with basic necessities.

AMDI administrators also joint this program, which was held for the second time, as one of the activities under Ihya Ramadhan AMDI 1437H.

AMDI Director, Dr. Norehan Mokhtar stated that this program would benefit the needy and increase blessings in the month of Ramadan. “We will do our best to help staff or their families who are going through difficult times, regardless of their ranking or position,” she said.

“I hope that this program will be continued, not only during Ramadan. Perhaps we can increase the number of people who we can help,” she continued.

The families could be helped because of staff who donated to the Ihya Ramadan AMDI Funds and USM Islamic Centre.  One of the recipients, who is also an AMDI staff, Nooraini Zakaria was touched because the visit was unexpected. Nooraini is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment and felt blessed because of the concern shown towards her.

Dr. Norehan also thanked all those who were involved in making this event a success, not only in terms of monetary, but also in terms of effort.

Deputy Director of Academic and Student Affairs, P.M. Dr. Bakiah Shaharuddin, Deputy Director of Clinical, Dr. Muhamad Yusri Musa and head of sections also participated in this event.
