Training
Hand Hygiene is a simple but crucial procedure to reduce nosocomial infection among patients and staff. As of today, six Hand Hygiene workshops have been conducted.

Monitoring Nosocomial Infections
Nosocomial infection is when an infection happens 48 hours after being admitted into the hospital or 2 weeks after being discharged. Nosocomial surveillance is typically done after the infection control’s nurses visit to a particular ward based on laboratory results.

MRSA SURVEILLANCE
MRSA, which stands for methecillin resistant staphylococcus aureus is one of the causes of infection in hospitals. MRSA is resistant to common antibiotics such Cloxacillin, Erythromycin dan Cephalosporin.

Hepatitis B Immunization
Immunization is offered to all clinical staff once every five years. The hepatitis B status will also be obtained from new staff. Staff who do not exhibit antinody for Hepatitis B will be provided with the vaccine. A safe level is  > 10 MIU/m

Environmental Audit
This audit is conducted in all wards, including the operation theaters and the CSSD to ensure that there is good infection control practice. Other items looked at are sterile instrument storage, proper ventilation and standard precautions.

In Use Test / Air Sampling
In use test is conducted in the event of an outbreak, for example, solutions or dressings used would be tested. Air sampling on the other hand is done whenever there is renovation, especially involving air conditioning.
