Oncology
Oncology is a niche area which includes research, diagnostic, and cancer related treatment. Cancer can be treated through surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation. The Oncology team is made up of  medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and nurses. To improve the quality of life of patients physically, socially, emotionally, and financially, there are four components to oncological treatment:

1) Prevention – Avoid risk factors

2) Early diagnostic – To examine and identify the stage, type and most suitable treatment

3) Treatment – Chemotherapy, hormone therapy, radiotherapy, and surgery

4) Palliative care – A holistic approach to alleviate the patient from pain at the last stages of cancer

Services offered:
1. Oncology Clinic for new and recurrent cases
2. Oral medication and/or concurrent chemo radiation therapy (CCRT)
3. Radiotherapy treatment
   - EBRT
   - IMRT
   - Brachytherapy


Radiotherapy
Radiotherapy is the main cancer treatment for all stages of cancer (prophylactic adjuvant or palliative). It is estimated that about 50% of the cancer patients require radiotherapy treatment. Based on the new cases in northern Malaysia (Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak), about 9773 patients require radiotherapy annually.
