| Understanding the molecular basis of gene fusion provides insight into the genes responsible for the pathological basis of many haematologic maligancies. As the molecular basis of these processes becomes more characterized, better selective and precise therapeutics can be instituted. Our current interest focuses on translocation t(8;21), which is one for the most frequently encountered chromosomal aberration in acute myeloid leukaemia |
