USM AMDI AND LEADING MEDICAL BIOTECHNOLOGY COMPANY, CRYOCORD (M) SDN. BHD SIGNED A MOU

PENANG, May 18, 2018 - Advanced Medical & Dental Institute (AMDI), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and the country's leading medical biotechnology company Cryocord (M) Sdn. Bhd. signed a collaborative Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) at a ceremony at USM’s main campus recently.

The MOU among others will provide a platform for AMDI USM and Cryocord to explore opportunities to develop, support and empower research activities, education programs and training in areas that will benefit both parties.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail represented USM for the signing with Cryocord’s Managing Director, James Then Khong Lek who also contributes in strengthening collaborations between USM and the country’s health-related industries.

Also present were the Director of Research Creativity and Management Office (RCMO), Prof. Dr. Lee Keat Teong, the Director of Nexus Life Sciences, Professor Dr. Mohd. Nazalan Mohd. Najimudin, Prof. Dr. Abdul Latif Ahmad, AMDI’s Deputy Director of Academic & Student Affairs, Assc. Prof. Dr. Bakiah Shaharuddin and AMDI’s lecturers.
