RAMADHAN SHAPES EXCELLENT PERSONALITY

BERTAM, 13 June 2017–Advanced Medical and Dental Institute, Universiti Sains Malaysia organised “Majlis Iftar Perdana 2017” in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan 1438H. This year, the event’s theme was “Ramadhan Membentuk Peribadi Cemerlang” and was held at the Clinical Trial Complex yesterday. Over 300 guests consisting of AMDI’s staff and their families as well as principal officers of the university attended the event.

This annual event was held to strengthen the relationship between AMDI’s staff and the top management of the university. In addition, this event also celebrated 50 orphans and asnaf members comprising of residents from around Bertam area.

According to USM Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail, this program not only strengthens the relationship between fellow employees, but also enables the university to contribute to the community, especially the orphans and less fortunate people.

"I hope that our contribution to the community will not cease here and I would like to urge AMDI’s members to continue to serve the best healthcare services to the community”, she said.

"Hopefully this way, the local community will recognise us more and be impressed with the presence of AMDI in Bertam", she added.

At the event, AMDI donated money and food hampers to orphans and asnaf members. This contribution was presented by Y.Bhg Professor Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail, USM Vice-Chancellor.

Through the contributions, AMDI was able to give them the joy of celebrating Aidilfitri.

AMDI also organised various activities in conjunction with Ramadan month under the Program Ihya Ramadhan. Among them were Program Ziarah Amal Ramadhan, Program Bicara Ilmu, Majlis Ilmu “Fikrah Ramadhan” and “Pesona Muslimah” as well as communal activities to prepare food for iftar.

Also present at the event were Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics and International, Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Industry and Community Network, Professor Dato' Dr. Abd. Aziz Tajuddin, USM Registrar, Professor Dr. Nor Azazi Zakaria, Director of Campus Engineering and Associate Professor Dr. Sofri Yahya, Director of the USM Islamic Center.
